I am searching for information and possible connection with
Katherine Elizabeth Walter m Franklyn Philip Bousquet III
and/or
Marjorie Alison Walter m Timothy Michael Moran
We are 2d cousins. Their gggrandfather Merritt Bosworth Carpenter and my
grandfather Washington Irving Carpenter were brothers.
I received this information from WFT and all information as to dates and
locations were entered private. I knew about Uncle Merritt of Stamford Conn
from past conversations with my Mother and Grandfather.
Any information and/or contact would be appreciated.
Patience Carpenter was born 14 Sep 1758, according to Family Bible,
but place not stated. She married about 1790, William Hill, probably in
VT or NY. Family tradition says William was on the "wrong side" during
the Rev. War, therefore moved to Canada.
But their son, William,Jr., the only child I know of, was b. in
Chittenden Co. VT, either 1st or 7th of Jan 1794, and before 1820
the family moved to Dunham, Lower Canada (Quebec).
I am descended from William Hill and Patience CARPENTER, and wonder if
any of the Carpenters in northern VT could have had a daughter Patience,
b. 1758.

I'm looking for the parents of Phillip Carpenter. Phillip is in the 1850 East Baton Rouge Parish Census and he married Eliza McColluch in 1852 in East Baton Rouge Parish. They had 10 children 3 boys and 7 girls. Can anyone help me?

The admiral put together a book called "The
Descendants of Timothy Carpenter of Pittstown,
Rensselaer Co., NY". Timothy was b. ca 1715 in
Westchester co NY. Information from other Carpenters
tells me that Timothy, who was an ancestor of mine,
was descended from both Williams, William of
Providence and William of Rehoboth, though C. L.
Carpenter had not been able to establish this. I've
looked thru his book and can't find a Christopher
listed. Someone else may have more of the admiral's
research.
He did leave a son, Chas. Lorain Carpenter, Jr., b.
1934, graduated from UVA in 1957 and entered the
Marine Corps, and a daughter, Olivia Adele, b. 1942,
no more information given....one of them may have his
papers, but I have no idea as to their whereabouts.
Hope this bit of information is helpful and not just
depressing. Good luck.

Hello all,
Seeking information on my grandfather, Orlando Boyce Carpenter, born Sept. 14,
1873 in Westfield, Mass.. Last known address was in Nova Scotia around
1905-1920. Possibly lived in Boston, Mass. in the 1920's.
He was the son of Samuel B. Carpenter and Harriet (McCollum) Carpenter.
Harriet later married a Simeon Carr of Abington, Mass, died Sept. 10, 1931.
Orlando had a brother, Albion who also lived in Abington and believed to have
moved to Florida.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Preston

Can anyone give me the address of the person selling the book
COUNTING KINDRED, by Deppen. It is an old book but was reprinted not long
ago. Some one on this list mentioned it, but I have lost the address. Thanks
so much, Gene
I am trying to reach someone in Buskirk, Rensselaer Co., possibly a DAR member
to procure information on burials of Carpenters - especially those buried on
the family farm (last mail address was RR# 1. I believe it was probably sold
after Rachel Wilkins Baker mariied Cottrell. Probably 60s or 70s. She wwas a
genealogist we lost contact with each other after she married Welles Baker.
Thank you verymuch.

Hi,
Is anyone familiar with the research of Rear Admiral
C.L. Carpenter, Ret. who died several years ago?
He gave my "cousin" the following info:
Christopher Carpenter b. 1740 Rhode Island
Children:
Henry b. 1779
Christine b. 1781
Bets b. 1784
Marie b. 1787
Caroline b. 1790
Christopher b. 1793
I've not been able to confirm a bit of this. Although he said
this is not his line, maybe if I knew who he was working on
I might find a clue to the source of the above.
Any help or comments appreciated.

Susan,
I have a Mary that I don't know much about, but maybe this will help:
John CARPENTER b. 1797 in Vt (my GGG Grandfather; still checking/unsure)
married Mary O'CONNOR b. 1806 in Dublin, Ireland
They had three sons :
Samuel D.
Giles
James (my GG Grandfather) b. in Shed's Corners or DeRuyter, Madison
Co., NY
married (Eliza) Jane Sweet b. in Shed's Corners or DeRuyter, Madison
Co., NY
They had 5 sons and 2 daughters:
Francis Adelbert
Elmer
----> Mary
George
Charles
Ellen
Osmer Harold CARPENTER (my G Grandfather) b. March 4, 1849 in
DeRuyter, Madison Co., NY
Osmer Harold ---> Francis Adelbert ---> Osmer Sidney (my father) --->
George Richard (me).
Osmer Harold married Mary Jane Maher in Olmstead Co., Minnesota in 1874.
They lived in Minnesota, and then DeSmet, South Dakota. F.A. and Osmer S.
were South Dakotans, though O.S. was born in Omaha. O.S. has lived in
Michigan since 1951, as have I.
I don't know if my Mary Carpenter is yours, too. Do you recognize anyone?
Since Grandpa Osmer H. was born in 1849, it's the right generation. I will
see if I can find any more info on Mary.
George

regarding these John Carpenters. Have you learned anything? And where have
you researched? I am preparing a letter for a researcher in Goshen to look
at land records and probate packets and court records. I would like to
identify the John Carpenter who married Ruth Coe.
