I am interested in any John Carpenters who lived in NY or Ontario prior to 1825.
My g-g-gfather was John Carpenter and he was born in 1825. Family story handed
down is that he came from either Alberta or Ontario. He setlled in Trenton, Maine
after some years at sea. He married Rachel Rogers there and from then on, never
told the the same story twice to the census. His son said after he died he was
born in NY. Noone in the family can find out who his parents were. He could have
been born in Canada or the US; Ontario, Alberta, or NY. I am searching out his
parents, but thus far have had no luck.
It is remotely possible that your John Carpenter was my John Carpenter's
grandfather, by the marriage date. I would be interestred to know who the 12
children of JOhn and ABigail were, with birthdates so their children could be
discovered.
thx

I have some pretty good info on the families after John Carpenter, but have
run into a brick wall on his ancestors. If anyone has information pertaining
to this family of Carpenters, please E-mail me at:

Hello cousins! I read in the local weekly newspaper of a Northbridge, MA
author writing a historical novel based on the lives of an actual Carpenter
family. This is about a family of 10 children who were orphaned when most were
unable to care for themselves. It is narrated by Nancy Carpenter, whose
gravesite is located in Northbridge. Any who have ancestors from this area
might find the book interesting as well as informative. The title is "Never
the Same Again" by Phyllis Hosken Masso. I would imagine that it would be
available from bookstores. Karen
I'm looking for any information on:
James CLEMMONS/CLEMMENS m. Sophia (Sellers?) and located in Darke Co., OH
in 1822. They were both b. in VA, either Rockingham or Culpepper county.
Daughter Lucinda (b. VA) m. Benjamin CARPENTER (b. PA) in 1826 in Darke Co.
Lucinda later m. Moses McKenny (1845).
Does anyone have anything on these people?
Thanks!
Cristie Reed [\\//] creed(a)artic.edu
I posted the following a couple of weeks ago...or so I thought.
Does anyone have any information about Annie Bea Carpenter who married William Thomas Genes? They raised their family in the early 1900's in Laurinburg, North Carolina. Their children were Mollie, Dora, Frorie, Carrie, Sallie, Merritt, and Pickett.
Since I'm new to the list, I am uncertain as to whether my posting was actually transmitted. Could someone let me know if the posting was received by members of the list?
Thank you in advance for any help you can give me regarding either the posting or Annie Bea Carpenter.
Any one have any info on these families?
Good Hunting,
Donna
