Sorry,
I neglected to say that Israel S. Carpenter was buried in the Gardiner,
Oregon, (Douglas Co.) cemetary and there are no other Carpenters buried there.
My guess, is that because he was so young that he was a single man, of course,
his widow could have remarried or moved away.

I just found this in a list of graves which I believe to be unpublished.
Israel S. Carpenter b. 17 March 1863 d. 16 December 1903, "Native of
Chautaugua, NY"
I was checking this list because some of my Oregon ancestors who are
descended from Moses Carpenter d. 1829 Onondaga Co., NY were in Chautaqua Co.
NY prior to migrating to Oregon. Also John Carpenter, reported brother of
Moses in AB Carpenter book reported to have d. in Jamestown, Chautaqua Co.,
NY.
I have no further information on Israel S. Carpenter. He is not listed in the
AB Carpenter book; however a few are, but all born prior to 1815 and none
listed as descendants of John Carpenter, reported fa. of Moses and John,
above.
Phoebe
Can someone tell me how I can get a book called "History and Genealogy
of the Carpenter Family In America" from the settlement at Providence,
RI, 1637-1901, by Daniel Hoogland Carpenter (of Maplewood, NJ), the
Marion Press, Jamaica, Queensborough, NY, 190l.
Tell me who to contact. Thanks very much.
If you are a member of the New England Historic Genealogical Society, you can
order it from their circulation library. Other Carpenter genealogies they have
available for mail-checkout include:
Robert, Martin "Genealogy of One Branch of the Carpenter Family"
Usher, James "Gen. and Hist. Record of the Carpenter Family..."
Carpenter, Amos "A Gen. Hist. of the Rehoboth Branch of the Carpenter Family
in America,..."
Carpenter, Daniel H., "Hist. and Gen. of the Carpenter Fam. in Amer. from the
Settlement at Prov., RI"
Walker, Edwin S., "Gen. Notes of the Carpenter Family...Personal Rem. of Dr.
Seymour D. Carpenter, Lt. Col...."
Carpenter, Edward "Samuel Carpenter and His Descendants"
Hope this helps.

I am searching for information regarding FREDERICK CARPENTER (and his wife
MARGERY WILDER) who were from the Canisteo area. Frederick, my grandfather,
was born sometime in the 1890s and worked for the railroad. He married
MARGERY WILDER in the early years of 1900. My father, Harold Frederick
Carpenter, was born in 1908.
I have no other information on the family and anything would be appreciated.
