I just put the index to Carpenter Chronicles (surname booklet series)
for Volume #29 on-line.
The index in the actual issue does not look the same as it does in my
home page but you can access the names you are researching by using your
"find" option.
I hope you will understand that I do not have the time to research these
issues for an individual nor to copy a particular page.
Hope you will check it out.

Hi All!
I have just been passed along a book, The Carpenter Family published by the
National Genealogical Research Institute in 1975.
It has some great info in it if anyone is interested....
It has: Carpenter marriages prior to 1700 in it
Names of the head of families in 12 of the 13 original states (over
500)
Carpenter Family militia history (20 pgs of names dates regiments
etc
Short biographies of 12 Carpenter men
to name but a bit!
As I don't yet have a scanner, I'd have to type out most info...might take me
a bit LOL. In the meantime, if anyone wants a look-up I'd be happy to
accomodate!
Happy Hunting,
Laurie

Rebecca was the second wife of Stephen. He was 62 when he
married Rebecca who was a widow believed to be in her late
50s or early 60s. He had children with his first wife,
Dorothy Whittaker. One of which, also named Stephen,
married Amy "Field". Although I have no record of this
union producing a "Fielding", you might do some research in
this direction.--
Visit my Web Page at:

In the Family History section you will find much data on
Carpenter,
Coryell, Buckland, Morey/Mowry and Waldron. I also have some
data on
Holiday, Messersmith, McCrindle, and Pratt.
That's all for now.

Yes, you have the death date wrong. Carrie Sara Carpenter is my
grandmother and that is my web page your referring to. I was afraid for
awhile that I had posted the wrong information on my page - I checked it
and it is correct on the page. She died in April 1974. James Franklin
House is the one that died on 9/7/1904 - listed 5 lines up from Carrie's
information.
David Henry House, Carrie's husband, died May 9, 1966. Andrew Jack Spurlin
is the one that died on 6/17/1959 - listed on the line just above David's
information.
It appears that you were looking on different lines each time. I'm sorry
that you misinterpreted the information.

Found more on the Carpenters than I did on the rest of my family. Here's a
little more on the same people.
Pike County Arkansas Census 1840, Thompson Township:
John Carpenter males, 1 each in the following age groups
10-14, 20-29, 50-59
females, 1 each in the following age groups
0-4, 5-9, 15-19, 20-29, 40-49
2 each in the 10-14 age
group
Jesse Carpenter males, 1 in the 20-29 age group
female, 1 in the 20-19 age group
In the Estray records Jesse Carpenter was listed. Jan 19, 1842 of the
Washington Telegraph has him bring a bright bay horse of 15 1/2 hands high
about 8-9 years old to be appraised for $80.
The following are listed as charter member (April 1833) of the old Antioch
Church of Christ : John Carpenter Jr., Elizabeth Carpenter, John Carpenter,
Jane Carpenter, Sarah Carpenter, Louisa Carpenter.

Mary Ann, I really don't have anything on this Isaac. If you think this
might be the one you are looking for here is a little more family
information:
This is from the June 1976 issue of The Epistle. page 41:
FREDERICK CARPENTER (son) of Uriah, born Jan. 6, 1766 at either cumberland or
Gloucester, R.I.; married Enice Barrows Nov. 5, 1788 or 1789. Eunice was
born at Western (now Warren), Mass. march 11, 1769 and died Oct., 5, 1855 at
Ischua, Cattarougus Co., New York. Frederick and Unice lived at Warren,
Mass.; he died Feb 26, 1821. Frederick was a captain in the War of 1812.
His children were: Isaac, born 1790; etc.
This is from page 40:
Frederick's father was Uriah Carpenter. This Uriah Carpenter and previous
generations are in the Amos B. Carpenter's 1898 book. This Uriah has also
been listed in the D.A.R. PATRIOT INDEX so that means that at least one
person has previously joined the D.A.R. on a line of descent from him. Check
with the registrar of your local D.A.R. chapter for the procedure for
ordering photocopies of lineage papers from National D.A.R. in Washington.
They can furnish you with a copy of the lineage paper of the member (or
members) who claimed descent from Uriah. Make sure you give dates and wives
names as there is at least one other Uriah Carpenter from whom D.A.R. members
claim descent.
Hope this helps.

The following just arrived from Brian Leverich, RootsWeb Genealogical
Data Cooperative
--------------- Begin Quote ----------------
Hi all -
RootsWeb now has four dual Pentium Pro 200 / 256MB RAM / 13+GB disk
Unix main servers online, and we have fifth in reserve and parts for
a sixth on the shelf. We also have a whole flock of auxiliary
servers.
Besides the dual-homed 1,544Kb T-1 Internet connection we have now,
we've just contracted today to upgrade a second 128Kb frame relay
circuit to a dual-homed full T-1.
We should have the second full T-1 in place in a week or two. Then
we'll have plenty of bandwidth for supporting USGENWEB.COM and
future facilities like a search engine for the USGenWeb Archives (a
primitive version is in alpha test with the Archives folks),
Hypermail and searchable archives for listowners, and some neat new
facilities for the County and State Coordinators.
We've also started talking to vendors about getting a DS-3 Net
connection, which is *much* larger than a T-1.
If everything above reads like Greek, the real point is that
RootsWeb has been and will continue growing so we can provide new
and better free services to the entire online genealogical community.
I'd especially like to thank the Members, Sponsors, and Donors who
support RootsWeb. Without your past and continuing support, we
simply wouldn't be able to provide these services to the community.
Good luck with your research everyone! Cheers, B.
