I am researching WILLIAM M. CARPENTER b 26 Feb 1825 someplace in Indiana
and married a Catherine (Edith) KRUZAN/CRUZAN around 1856 in ILL. I
suspect the county where they were married was Jasper. They had a number of
children, one being
ERMINDA CARPENTER b 1859 in Jasper Co. ILL.
Some of the other CARPENTER names in this family are:
JOHN CARPENTER b 1856 Illinois
HANNAH CARPENTER b 1862 Jasper Co. Illinois
DELLA CARPENTER
CLARA (Cordelia) CARPENTER b 1864 Jasper Co. Illinois
MELISSA LIZZIE CARPENTER b. 1865 Jasper Co. Illinois
MILLIE CARPENTER b. between 1868-1871 Indiana and another source says
Jasper Co.,Illinois
HARRIET HATTIE CARPENTER b 1871 Jasper Co, Illinois
ESTELLA CARPENTER b 1873 Jasper Co. Illinois
EMMALINE CARPENTER b 1875 Jasper Co. Illinois
FRANK CARPENTER b 1879 Jasper Co. Illinois
ALFRED CARPENTER b 1881
William and Catherine moved with their family to Lyndon, Kansas
and are buried there.
If you have Carpenter from Jasper Co., please email. Also, if you happen
to be researching Cruzan/Krusan. Thanks
If any of you have Carpenters in Augusta Co. Va, a wonderful website to
brouse is: WWW.Rootsweb.com/~Chalkley.
It is Court Records from the mid 1700's "Chronicles of the Scotch-Irish at
Augusta Co"
It is peppered with Carpenters. An example dated 19 Nov 1766 includes the
names of: Joseph Sr & Jr, Saloman, Thomas, Nathaniel, Zapher and George
Carpenter.
Good hunting!!
Looking for ancestors of Philany (or Philena) Carpenter. She married Eleazer
Rhoades, Jr. who died in 1820. Their son Ezekiel Rhoades (b. 1799 in
Dummerston, Windham Co., Vermont; d. 1845 in Fulton Co., Illinois) married
Eliza Vashti Blackington (b. 1799 in Vermont).

There are only 2 Truman Carpenters in the book by Amos Bugee, one was born
in Addison ,VT on 24 Jan., 1810 , nothing further about him except he was
still living in 1896.
The other was born in PA , 16 Jan., 1829 he had children:
Luis
Truman
Ella
I have one in my files but he was born in 1909 in IL.

This is one of the best things I ever did when I posted the problem of
double messages to the listowners mailing list.
It seems that we are not the only ones recieving double messages (although
I never have.)
But some of the postings are getting hot and heavy, there's even been some
name calling! hehehehehehe I love this stuff, thank you for helping me
start all this!!!!!!

Can't come up with any but who is your
Amos? I have 17 of them in my
database.

In the Family History section you will
find much data on Carpenter,
Coryell, Buckland, Morey/Mowry and
Waldron. I also have some data on
Holiday, Messersmith, McCrindle, and
Pratt.
That's all for now.

Has anyone uncovered or discovered a Truman Carpenter who may have lived in
the 1700s, possibly in the New York or Massachusetts area, or anywhere? I'm
just acting on a hunch, so there may not have been such an individual. It may
help me find the parents of my Amos Carpenter.
Thanks,

I met this WONDERFULL lady on the net a while back. She has been checking
buriel records in Rhode Island and sent me some of the results of her
research yesterday.
Since she is not on this list she told me I could post the information if
I'd like.
I have been looking for the parents of Hannah Cooke for 3 years, wife of
Gershom Carpenter. I found them in these records and subsequently the whole
line!

Chuck,
Went down to RIHS lib today. Able to copy Carpenters buried in the
cemeteries in Providence -fills 3 pages in my word processor. They
request that you only use the computer for an hour at a time and there
was another person waiting, from out of state. By the time he finished
it was almost time for me to leave. I will be going back, still have
more Lee's and Peck's to dig out and other collateral lines. I'm not
positive when I'll go again, might not be for couple of weeks.
Hope you can find something in the pages. I notice your tag on Carpenter
group, if you'd like to post, that is okey by me. You must note that
these are not perfect - 1) recorders have made mistakes - I've seen it
in my Lee & Peck lines, 2) I'm sure I've made mistakes, I've tried to
copy my notes exactly BUT I may have transcribed incorrectly. If you
spot anything let me know and I will double check. I do know there are
couple of names misspelled but that is the way they have it in the
computer. couple of names I remember are: Ageline/Angeline & Pearley
W./Parly W. - there could be others.
Just finished typing this and haven't had chance to see if any are in
one of my collateral lines.

Well, I posted about some people on this list getting double messages on
the listowners mailing list. It's just like this one only it's for people
who run mailing lists.
Well, I guess I started something because there's like at least 20 posts a
day on the subject :)
Everything from mailer configuration to the Devil did it .......
Lemme know if anyone gets this twice please.

Thank you Again, Chuck!! I do have the pretty much all of the Chaffee
lineage back to Thomas Chaffee #1 of America Chaffee's. I just found out
what boat he came over on in 1630. I have nothing on the Chaffee lineage in
England.
I also do not have the Carpenter lineage back through the years, in England,
if one has been found.
Thanks again!!

Someone on the list said they are getting my messages twice.
Is anyone else getting two messages?
I know my ISP, IBM net is splitting my incomming messages, they are
supposed to fix it tomorrow afternoon. But didn't know they were sending
two if each??
I think I posted 3 messages today regarding the same subject, different
