BELOVED RESIDENT of OSCEOLA MILLS BURIED ON SUNDAY

MANY ATTEND LAST SOLEMN RITES FOR MRS. ALICE KEPHART KELLER, 85--
HAD RESIDED IN THAT VICINITY ALL HER LIFE

The large friendship which Mrs Alice Kephart Keller, widow of John Keller, of Osceola
Mills, enjoyed was attested by the many who attended the funeral services Sunday afternoon
in the Methodist church, Osceola Mills,pa
in her memory.
Rev. M.H. Crowford, her pastor, had charge of the impressive service, while the floral
offerings were lovely indeed. Burial followed in the Umbria cemetery, in Osceola Mills,
alongside John Keller.
Born at Osceola Mills,pa January 30, 1849,
Mrs. Keller was aged 85 years, 6 months and 26 days. All her life had been spent in the
vicinity of Osceola Mills, including her large family.
Although, in declining health for the past six years, Mrs. Keller was only bedfast
five days. A cancerous ailment was attibuted as the cause of her death. Since the death of
her husband, John, about sixteen years ago she made her home with her son-in-law and
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Warrender, of Osceola Mills.
Mrs. Keller was twice married, her first husband, Joe Carothers, dying many years ago
is buried in the Old Abram Goss cemetery, with many family members. Surviving are the
following sons and daughters; namely: Harry Luther Carothers, of Roulette [ Potter County
PA. ??] F.J. Carothers, of Altoona; Mrs. Parker Scott, of Glasgow; Mrs J.W.Lamb, of
Pittsburg; Mrs. Fred Warrender, of Osceola Mills; also these step children: Mrs. Clara
Ellis, Houtzdale; Mark Keller, Centre County; Steven Keller, Pittsburg; Fred Keller,
Osceola Mills; Mrs. Harry Gough, Baltimore Maryland. Three sisters also mourn her death;
Mrs. Albert Britten, Osceola Mills; Mrs Mary Starline, Philipsburg; and Mrs Esther
Campton, of Mt. Jewett; Pennylvania.
Mrs Keller was a woman of noble christian character and she daily exemplied the life
of her Master. A good woman has been called home, but her good works will live after her.
In early life she united with the Methodist church and was faithful to her duties until
hindered by failing health. The home, church and vicinity will ever hold dear the memory
of this precious Godly woman who "knew Him as her Savior."
