I am researching this line for my brother-in-law. He has hit a brick wall
and would appreciate any help.
He wrote me: This is all the info I have on my ggrandfather, John Edward
Carothers.
John Edward Carothers b:Jan.3, 1842, in TN, d:March 11,1920 in West Point,
MS
buried: in Greenwood Cemetery, West Point, MS his father: Hugh
Carothers?
wife: Susan (Jennie) Eugenia Yokley b:July 14,1853, in Giles County, TN
d: April 2,
1941, in West Point, MS, buried in Greenwood Cemetery, West
Point, MS
they had four daughters, one died very young (Mattie): Laura Rose,
Retta Catherine,
and Monie Ethel Carothers (Jacob) my grandmother. b:July 20,1880,
d:May 25,1911.
John Edward Carothers had several brothers and sisters.The only
names I can attach
to him are: Sam W Carothers b:1852, Wilson M Carothers, m: Jennie
Beasley, Dec.
5, 1889 in Nashville,TN. One nephew: Verne Carothers, Tupelo, MS.
I can find a lot of info on Jennie Yokley ancestry, but not John
Edward Carothers.
I did find him in the 1880? census.
