Nasir E. Carothers, 90, of Lincoln Borough,
passed away Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012,
in UPMC McKeesport.
He was a retired clerk for the Allegheny County Recorder of Deeds in the City County
Building in Pittsburgh, an Army veteran of World War II, former member of Worldwide Church
of God and was the first burgess and first mayor of Lincoln Borough. Born Aug. 7, 1921, in
Lincoln Borough, he was a son of the late William Emmett Carothers and Ella Mae (Tyte)
Carothers. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mary (Palfey) Carothers; and nieces and
nephews. He was also predeceased by his sisters, Eunice Croco.
and Valois Heintzelman;
and brothers, Kenneth J. Carothers .
and Curtis W. Carothers.
Friends will be received from 2 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the PAUL E. BEKAVAC
FUNERAL HOME, Elizabeth. A service will take place at noon Wednesday in the funeral home
chapel with the Rev. Roy A. Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in West Newton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
