Looking for the parents or possible parents of my ancestor Peter Carrow, probably
Caron/Carron, born October 1822 Canada. Peter went to Vermont in the 1840s where he
married Agnes Berard aka Baraw, he remained in Vermont and I believe he may have died in
Troy VT
Information I have to date suggests that Peter Carrow is somehow related to either
Francois Caron aka Carrow, or his wife, Felicite Tessier Laplant. Francois and Felicite
lived at Derby VT in the late 1800s. Francois is the s/o Louis-Marie Caron and Julie Bois
.
Francois Caron son of Louis-Marie Caron & Julie Bois from St-Jean-Port-Joli married
Felicite Tessier-Laplante on the 27 Feb,1854 at St-Norbert, Arthabaska, she is the
daughter of Edouard Tessier-Laplante & Judith Giroux from Beauport
There is a possibility that my Peter may be the s/o Gregoire aka Jean Baptiste Caron who
is the brother of the above mentioned Louis-Marie Caron. Jean Baptiste Caron married Marie
Olive Francoeur Leclerc so this would make François Caron aka Carrow my Peters cousin.
Both Louis-Marie and (Gregoire) Jean-Baptiste are the sons of Jean-Baptiste Caron and
Josette Belanger who married July 1, 1794 at St-Jean-Port-Joli, LIslet PQ
Marriage of Jean Baptiste Caron and Olive Leclerc:
From the St Henri Levis repertoire: Jean-Baptiste s/o Jean-Baptiste Caron and Josette
Belanger married on August 24, 1819 at St Henri Levis Co., Quebec to Marie-Olive Francoeur
Leclerc d/o Joseph Leclerc & Marie-Rose Pierre-Jean from St-Henri, Levis, PQ.
The only children I have been able to confirm for Jean-Baptiste and Olive are;
Joseph Laurent born Nov 19, 1820 at St-Henri
Jean Gregoire born Aug 13, 1823 at St-Henri, married Jan 17,1843 Marie-Esther
Vaillancourt
Narcisse born May 22, 1835 at Ste-Marie de Beauce; Married Aug 8, 1854 at
St-Norbert, Arthabaska to Clementine Camire daughter of Stanislas Camire &
Brigitte Plante
Marcelline born Sept 16, 1836 maybe at Ste-Marie de Beauce
With the above Joseph Laurent being born Nov 1820 would mean that my Peters year of birth
is most likely 1822, plus with it being October 1822 this would be possible and fit with
the next child, Jean Gregoire born Aug 13, 1823.
It is quite unlikely that Peter Carrow is the son of Louis Caron & Julie Bois as they
married 12 August 1822 at S. J. P. J.
If my Peter isnt the son of Jean Baptiste aka Gregoire Caron and Olive Leclerc then maybe
he is from another of JBs siblings, apart from Louis Marie. It does seem that he fits
somewhere in this family. Peters first child, a son, was called Nelson B Carrow I have
no idea what the B stands for but perhaps its Baptiste and coupled with Nelson being
Narcisse it seems promising that naming patterns could following traditions.
I have not been able to find out where in Canada Peter was born, Canada East is the only
info I have. I would really like to hear from anyone who has anything to offer with
regards to what Caron family my Peter might belong to.
Thanks
Janice
