Trying to knock down one of my brick-walls ~ new info suggests the parents of my ancestor,
Pierre CARON born October 1822, might be:
Francois CARON (Joseph CARON & Josephte BEAULIEU) who married 26 Feb 1821,
St-Hyacinthe, QC - Notre-Dame-de-Rosaire parish to Marie-Anne TETRO dit DUCHARME (Pierre
TETREAU & M. Anne JARED dit BEAUREGARD).
I have found a daughter of Francois and Marie Anne ~ Marguerite CARON who married
Amedee MENARD, their marriage from:
Marriages of Brome County Page 195, Ref: p 45 Amedee Menard parents J.B. Menard &
Esther Beaudriau at Sutton PQ on the 7-15-1867 to Marguerite Caron parents François Caron
and Marianne Tétreau.
I think another daughter might be Rose CARON who married Theophile DAMPIER/DONPIER. Rose
lived at St Johnsbury VT and later around Bolton PQ.
My ancestor's name may have been Joseph Pierre, Pierre Joseph, Joseph Pierre-Louis,
or any one of these combinations. Maybe he was baptised in the same parish as Francois and
Marie Anne were married in ~ St-Hyacinthe, QC - Notre-Dame-de-Rosaire?
Help with finding the parents of my ancestor would really be appreciated, Pierre CARON
married Agnes BERARD around 1850 and probably in Richford or Berkshire, Vermont, however,
no record has been found in over 15 years of searching! As they were French and Catholic I
have wondered if they were married by a "missionary priest" or a justice of the
peace and perhaps the event recorded later across the border in Canada...some baptism
records have been found in Bedford PQ for which this happended but I have not been able to
find any marriage!
Thanks
Janice
