Janice -
While I was looking for another Caron line I looked briefly for your Salina
in the 1880 Census. In
Ancestry.com data, I searched first name Salina, born
in Vermont c1853. There were only 4 meeting this criteria living in either
Vermont or Massachusetts, that also had parents born in Canada. They were:
Salina 26 - wife of Lewis Merchant of Fair Haven, Rutland, VT - children:
Elizabeth 4, Adele 3, Emma 1.
Salina 27 - widow - surname Riley, of Burlington, Chittenden, VT - Children:
Mary 6, Caroline 4.
Salina 27 - wife of Harry Hopkins of Huntington, Hampshire, Mass. -
Children: none
Salina 26 - wife of Elmer Crosier of Pittsfield, Berkshire, Mass. -
Children: Clara B. 3, George A. 5 months.
Maybe a search for marriage records would tell you if any of these is your
Salina.
I assume that you have the following list of siblings, derived from 1870 and
1880 Census entries for the Peter and Agnes Corrow family:
Nelson 1851
Salina 1853
Peter 1854
Mar(c)ellons 1859
Lewis 1860
Louise 1862
Mary 1866
Emily 1868 - Married Wm. E. Brock - 1900 Census in Troy, Orleans, VT with
Peter Carrow his father in law in household.
Paul 1869
Willie 1872
Ella 1874
I found what may be your Lewis in the 1880 Census. There was an entry in
Troy, Orleans, VT for a Lewis Cawraw (there's a new spelling for you), age 20,
single, b. VT, parents b. PQ. He is in the household of Curtis Elkins, and
is listed as a farm laborer. I did not find Lewis in 1900.
I hope this may be of some help. I know what you are dealing with on the
spelling variations.
Good Luck!
Bill
