Hello Rob -
We've had past communication re: your Ancestor Charles Caron - brother to both John
Nicholas Caron (1804) & Nicholas William Caron (1806). I seem to recall
'twins' and 'actor'?
Anyway the other day I posted a message somewhere on here explaining what actually
happened (in 1839) to MY Nicholas William Caron (1806 bap;Thr.Str.Fr.Hu.Church, London)
- have you had a look at it yet? Anyway back to yr 15 Feb message to me -
I believe you meant to write that JOHN NICHOLAS CARON (b; 1804) was actually MY Nicholas
William Caron (b;1806) BROTHER and that - John (Jean) Emerson Caron (b; 17/3/1776) was the
FATHER OF - John Nicholas/Nicholas William/ & Charles Caron with Martha (Edwin)
Caron their mother.
I did not know John Jean committed suicide - I will look for any reports of it in the
British Newspaper Archive, as yesterday I managed to get a month's sub for £1.!
According to my research and other help offered to me abt 3 yrs ago - John (Jean) Emerson
Caron (b;1776) DID in fact also have a brother - called guess ?? yes - Nicolas William
(Guillaume) Caron (b: 1763) in London f= Nicholas m= Sara Emerson (marriage as yet
untraced). All these Jeans/Johns/Nicholas Williams -its easy to get confused! so be
watchful of birth dates I say!
So the above 2 were sons of fleeing French Huguenot Nicholas Caron (b:abt 1731/33 of
Bolbec, Upper Normandy, France).
Nicholas (1731/33), fled France with father Louis le Caron & family circa 1738
arriving destitute at the Threadneedle St. French Huguenot Church where they received
charity.
Nicholas later became a long-serving Elder of that same Church.
(Have a look at
Familysearch.org Website inputting Carron or Caron into the Search Box
and check out their IGI Batch Numbers - invaluable resource)
I am still actively researching the family and am currently trying to find out how one
goes about proving you are descended from Huguenot Roots with a view to eventually
becoming a Member of the Huguenot Society,
Happy to help if I can
Di
