Hi
I recieved this and am interested in your story.
I am searching my husbands family. His fathers parents were Richard
Carolan who married Anna Coyle. They lived in NYC around the 1900's.
Richard and Anna had 5 children, 3 boys and 2 girls. The son's names
where John, Richard and James. James died as a baby due to falling into
a tub of hot water. If any of this information sounds familiar please
E-mail me. Any nformation would be much appreciated.
Elaine Carolan
My mother was a Carlin (the name became that after immigration from
Nobber in County Meath Ireland in 1859). The interesting thing is that
John Carolan and Elizabeth Cassidy Carolan had a son James who married
Anna Bridget Duffy in New Castle Delaware in 1882. They had a son James
who was killed falling into a pail of hot water in the 1890's. There
were no Richards in the lineup and the whole thing is probably a
coincidence. There is also the fact that Rose Carolan went to New York
City and married and had a child Elizabeth so I believe there are ties
to New York that I don't know about yet.
Thanks,
Nancy in Delaware
