I sympathize--I have Farrellys in Cavan and Kellys in Galway, loads of both.

Thanks Diann, I do have the films at the Family History Center. 98 % of them do
not have the townlands. The entries are crowded, and they go back to 1750s. I'm
grateful that I have them but they are tough. Delaware death records do not give
the parent's names at the time John died. They were married in Ireland with no
parent's names. There are so many John Carolan and Carrolans it makes your head
swim in the Irish records. I also have Griffiths and the Tithe there on film as
well. I did this before the records were available online. Thanks so much for
your input. I'd love estate records. Lord Gormanston was the Landlord . The
records he left viewable on the National Library of Ireland are interesting but
helpful in my case. I'm hoping there are some Carolan relatives out there.
Kind regards,
Nancy

Nobber civil parish is Navan Catholic, and the church records can be viewed on
the Meath Heritage and Genealogy Centre site. With luck, should give townlands.
Also, the 1826 Tithe Applotments for Nobber are on the National Archives site,
show 8 Carolans and 7 Cassidys, with townlands.

I am researching John Carolan b. about 1832 and Elizabeth Cassidy Carolan b.
about 1836 who immigrated from Nobber, Meath in about 1858/9, 1st to
Philadelphia then to New Castle De. Elizabeth's mother Ann Sillery Cassidy came
in 1866 with a Mary Carolan whose relationship to John is unknown. She was
swallowed up by Philadelphia, disappeared. A Patrick Cassidy and his wife
Bridget were sponsors in New Castle to one of John's children, he disappears.
Would like to pinpoint what townland in Nobber Civil Parish they originated in
