And Liverpool was where they left from to come to the US I think.
My grandfather, Desmond Carney, left Ireland via Liverpool in the 1920's.

Just a thought... during this time frame many people went to England looking for work
that wasn't available in Ireland. The Irish were leaving in droves coming to the USA
as well, anything to prevent starvation.

Upon receiving the marriage certificate of William's son William Arthur, it
appears that William was born in Liverpool, England and not Ballinasloe,
Ireland. Now I wonder why they were in Liverpool in 1847...?
