Don't know if this will be of interest to you or not. The mother of one of
the friends of my nephews was a Patricia Kearney from Detroit. If this is
of interest, I will contact them for more info.

Hi, I'm also interested in the Kearneys in Michigan. My
grandmother was born
in Doonbeg, County Clare, Ireland in 1857 and was said to have come to
Upper
Michigan with her father, Patrick, when she was 3 years old. This is
according to her obituary, which goes on to say that her mother stayed in
Detroit for a few months before joining them. I've always wondered why a 3
year old would come with her father and the mother would come later,
although
there was a younger brother also born in Ireland - don't know
where he was
during this time. Apparently there were Carneys living in lower Michigan
about that same time =- possibly relatives whom they were visiting??? Will
appreciate it if anyone can shed some light on this and maybe come up with
some relatives. Thanks for anything you can tell me. Mary S.
