Connie, I don't think this is the Rita you are looking for. My Rita
is my mother who was born in 1916 or 1918. Her mother was Marion
Carney Roche (Roache, Roch, DeRoch) Her father's name was William
Roch, (Roach, Roche) of St. Johns in Newfoundland.

Do you have any more current information on your Carney's?
I'm not
sure if I
have cooresponded with you before but anyway, I am looking for my
grandmother
born Rita Margaret Carney in 1918, she could have been born as
margaret and
just gone by Rita. She also could have been named after a realitive,
this is
why I'm writting to you. Do you know if there was a Rita or
Margaret
born in
1918, we think in NY, but the family originated from Ireland, her
parents
were james Carney and Agnes Swift. Please let me know if you think
this is a
match.
Thanks,
Connie
