I don't know how many of you have seen my message, I just noticed I was
mailing it to the wrong address, so I'll put it out again, can't hurt
anyway. I am trying to find a connection with anyone to my grandmother,
born Rita Margaret Carney in 1918 or 1919 to James and Agnes(Swift)
Carney. She might have gone by the name of Margaret. I have a record
that says she was born in New York, not sure where though. Her parents
came from County Mayo, Ireland. She lived with an uncle named John
Bannon in the Bronx of New York around 1935-36. In 1936 she married
Arthur Wright and they had a son(my father) in1937, James Wright. In
1941 the divorced and Rita lost custody of her son. we have been told
that she would stand across the street and watch him play, so we know
she loved him. Her last known address is on Cauldwell Av. in the Bronx,
but she may have moved to New Jersey. Her family now might not know some
of these names, as she may not have ever mentioned having been married
or having a son, since she couldn't take him with her, it might have
been the easiest way to handle the situation. So if anyone recognizes
ANY of these names, please contact me right away. I just want to know
what happened to her, and if she ever thought about my father.
Thanks,
Connie
