Hi Gary
I have just come across the Carney / Ogilby connection whilst conducting my own research.
You may have already obtained the answers you were looking for regarding Henry but I will
plod on and give you what I have found in case it is of any help.
Henry married Maggie Ogilby at St Annes. Her father was Samuel Ogilby and mother Mary
Anne Pinkerton. She had siblings: Susan, William, Samuel, Robert, Ellen and George -
there are another 4 which I haven't yet located. At the time of the 1911 Census she
was living at home with her family in 125 Glenwood Street, Woodvale, Belfast. On the
Ulster Historical site it lists Henry's father as Henry.
In 1911 Henry was resident with Robert & Mary Cotter at 50 Wilton Street along with
his sister Margaret and brother James. All three are listed as being born in Scotland.
Robert and Mary are documented as the parents. According to the census they were only
married 7 years in 1911 and no children born alive but 3 living (obviously the Carney
children).
The only cotter and Mary marriage I can locate is in 1892 which would be too early.
My interest is in the Ogilby side but I like to fill out the other sides of the family
too. My Ogilby's all came from Kilwaughter and there are loads of them too!!
I have copies of the 1911 Census information if you are interested or haven't already
got it. It is also available online.
I hope I have given you some help.
Diane
