Hi Maureen
I am researching Carney (or Cairney as my name now seems to have changed
to). I have a Hugh Carney born in Ireland about 1786 but I have no idea
what part of Ireland he was from. He married Esther Milligan from
Wigtownshire and moved to live there, they had 4 children that I know of.
Any connextions?
thanks
Joan

Can't help with this sorry. I am searching for Carney family
from
Clonoulty
Parish, County Tipperary. I'm curious if you know how common the
name
"Carney" was. Often people tell me I may have it wrong and it should be
Kearney, but I don't think mine are.
