Hi would like to share the information about Lott, my g g g grandfather. He had a total
of 10 children.
He was born in NC. His father Absolum Carney Sr. was born in Stafford Co. VA.Lott had
10 children. His first childlren were born John 1795, Absolum 1799, Lot 1804, daughter
born abt 1800, daughter avt 1802, daugthter abt 1806 and one born abt 1808 daughters born
between 1800-1810.(still working on finding their names & spouses). Then there Then
the next births were william, 1814, Edmond 1816, Shem 1817, and Lemuel 1820. All of the
children shown here is supported by the census records and dates. Lott's older sons
seemed to migrate toward Tenn, thru Ga, then Kent, Ohio and into Tenn. The gap in the
births indicates that he may have married twice (not documented) Susannah and Lott went to
GA with the younger family, however thier move was not more than 100 miles from Pickens,
SC. Several of Lott's brothers & sisters moved over into GA. Susan & Joseph
Turner, (his sister''s family). Lott's brother Shem moved to Ohio and settled
there. Lott did serve in the 1812 war !
but returned to SC. My records indicate that the Absolum in Ohio is not the son of Lott,
but most likely the son of Shem or Thomas who stayed in that area. Lott's brother
Absolum and John (d 1857 both stayed in SC and died there. His other brother Eli died in
1809, leaving his wife Nancy and two sons, Calvin & Abolsum. Lott's sisters Sarah
& Margaret both died before 1832 but left heirs. Lott's father died in SC 1832.
I have the will. Also Eli's estate sale. Absolum Sr, (lott's father) and his
brother Onesby (shows up in one printed translation of the census as Pynerly) are in SC in
1800, living near each other. Absolum Sr's had a son named Thomas. It is not sure
where he ended up, however there is evidence that he is the Thomas who moved up into Tenn,
then Missouri. Some state that Thomas, Absolum Sr.'s brother went to SC, and had a
son named Thomas who is the one that ended up in Missouri. This issue need further
development. Have worked on this line for 32 ye!
ars, spent time in the Stafford VA area which was very informative. Myrna
