Dear Clarke,
Thank you for answering my quiry! I have never been able to find Margaret Carney's
family. She married Laurence Van Gorder, and lived in and around Greeley, Colorado, with
the rest of the Van Gorders. She is buried in Greeley. I hope that your Carneys are mine
too!
What does MBTT mean?
All I have is the name Andrew and Magdalena Carney. I am not sure they are her parents.
Margaret was born 22 May 1831 at Warwarsing, Ulster, New York
She died at Lone Tree, Weld, Colorado [outside of Greeley]
12 June 1898. She married Laurence VG in Ulster, N.Y.1854
They had eight children, the first five born in Ellenville, Ulster, N.Y. The next three
were born in Wilcox, Elk, Pa.
Sounds like you have a pretty good family to be related to!!
My daddy was always proud to have an Irish Carney in our family. Do you think we can
connect our Carney's?
Please let me know!!
Thank you for writing. Please enclose your e mail address.
Sincerely,
Doris Van Gorder Davis

Just a note to say that I am trying to track a Francis Carney from Maguiresbridge,
Enniskillin area that died about 1855. His wife and children immigrated in late
1850's through Boston to Corning NY, then Watkins, NY. My ggrandfather was John
Carney who was born at MB
in 1840. He and brother Francis moved to Ouray, Colorado about 1878.
If either of you have a Francis in your family in Fermanagh, we possibly could be
related.
Thanks for reading and hope to make connections.
Joe
