Ellen, I will resend this here.
The history written by Lula Carnay,(Sarah Louise Charlton)born 21 March
1909, married to Theodore Carney, born 14 November 1885 to James Alexander
Carney IV and his first wife Amelia Ann Rudicil.
James 1st, came from Ireland with his Irish wife. His first child, James
2d, born aboard ship, family settled in Pennsylvania, where James 1st,
became a large land owner. His first son grew up and married a full blood
french woman, and his father set him up on his own farm, which failed, as
James 2d was a gambler and man of leisure. His father set him up again
and again, each time failed, his mother wanted James 1st, his father, to
set him up for the fourth time, and was refused, saying he wanted to have
enough for his other children. (I do not know names of other children).
James 2d, packed up his family and moved west, Lula says to Missouri, I
am not certain about this, as his daughter Sabrina was born in Tennessee,
supposedly. Sabrina married first to John McFadden and second to Robert
McMillen. Sabrina's siblings were Amanda, James A.3d, Samuel, Isaac, Mary,
John.
James Alexander Carney 3d, was married first to Isabell Freemyre and second
to Lydia Hilbert.
James 4th was married first to Amelia Ann Rudicil and second to Anna Pultz.
This James was a Baptist minister.
He was the first to brak with tradition of naming his first son, James
Alexander and named him Theodore. Theodore traveled much and ended up in
Caldwell, Idaho. There is more info, but nothing to further our history.
I am still trying to prove Sabrina was born in Tennessee.
This is long for the board. Some of the Carney's are in the family book
" Boltz/Puls/Pulse/Pults/Pultz Family of America, through Johann Michael
Boltz", by Paul and Bea Boltz and Caroly Gerard. (I also have Boltz ancestors)
