Hi Wally!
Do you know the names of Mary's parents or brothers and sisters? My
great grandmother, Martha Carney Parker Stagner, was born and lived in
Salem, Dent County, Missouri most of her life. Her maiden name was
Carney and she was born around 1834. She had three brothers that we
know of, John Carney, Edmond Carney, and Sylvester Carney. Her first
marriage was to William Pleasant Parker, and two children were born of
the marriage. After he died, she married William Roland Stagner, and
five children were born of that marriage. My paternal grandfather,
William Archie Stagner, was their youngest child. Around 1890 the
family moved to Gatesville, Coryell County, Texas. Martha's oldest son
by her second marriage was John Roland Stagner, and he and much of his
family are now in rest in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas.
There may be a tie here. Perhaps Mary was a sister of Martha. If you
wish, please correspond to me privately.
