NEW LEXINGTON: Goldie M. Carney Talbot Phillips, 101, passed away Thursday, January 2,
2014.
Goldie was born November 14, 1912 in New Lexington, Ohio. (Perry County)
She was born the daughter of the late John and Martha Corder Carney.
She was a lifetime member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, charter member of the New
Lexington Ladies Eagles Auxiliary 2070 and an avid card player.
Goldie is survived by her children, Patricia (Andrew) Kelly of Florida, Kathryn (Jerry)
Turnes of Somerset, Ohio, Chris Talbot of New Lexington, Ohio, Donald Talbot of New
Lexington, Dorothy (Norman) Patterson of Somerset, John (Jane) Talbot of Somerset, Ed
(Rhonda) Talbot of Junction City, Ohio, Ernie (Cheryl) Talbot of New Lexington, Carol
(Steve) Middaugh of New Lexington; step children, Joey (Sandy) Phillips of Somerset and
Terry (Sharon) Phillips of New Lexington; 25 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren, 13
great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, George B. Talbot (1961), Joseph M.
Phillips (1989), three sons, Darrell, Thomas and Roger Talbot, six brothers and three
sisters.
Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:p.m. at the Chute-Wiley Funeral
Home, 118 S. Jackson St., New Lexington with Eagles services at 7:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, January 6, 2014 at St. Rose Catholic
Church, corner of Main and Water Streets.
Burial will follow in New Lexington Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to New Lexington Fraternal Order of Eagles Women's
Auxiliary 2070
