Sorry, I'd help you if I could. My Carney ancestors came to the U.S. around 1858.
They came from Dingle in County Kerry so I'm not related to the James Carney you are
looking for.

Thank you for your message. I work as a researcher in the Inniskillings Museum.
We are involved with Derry Museum and Fermanagh County Museum in a study of
Irelans history 1910-1930. This will have an exhibition called Connection and
Division in early 2012. I am dealing with the topic 'Returning Soldiers'. James
Carney is one of the selected soldiers, he ended as a TD for Donegal. WE do not
have a photograph, and should you be able to help we would be very pleased. I
came across an obituary of James's brother which I will send you should you like
