out that I didn't mean to say that *this* Michael is definitely connected to your
James; it simply may be another possible lead to pursue. Sorry if I caused any

I checked out the original post that you are replying to, and the person mentioned that
James' father may be a Michael Carney of Bay City - except the wife name I have is
Mary Phiffen or Phiffer. I have Michael's probate papers in my files (somewhere!) and
I noted that in 1879, when Michael died, James was living in Arizona Territory. By 1883
he was back living in Michigan.
