Looking for any info on Samuel Franklin Carney b. 1865. Married Margaret Reed 1888 in Egg Harbor City, NJ. and his parents, Aaron H. Carney and Mary E Brown. Lived somewhere in the Atlantic City, NJ area. Email me at Waverlee54(a)aol.com
Thanks..............................................Maryann
I am replying to your request even though I do not know whether this is my Thomas J. Carney or not. My man married a Mary J. who died in 1870. Does your info go back that far? The reason I wrote is that Mary J. is buried in the Morgan Family Cemetery which is private along with Keziah Dunn Parsons. She was the daughter of John Dunn of NC. Thought there might be some connection with Margaret because Keizah and Mary J. died in the same year. There were Dunns in Morgan Co., IN at that time and I thought maybe Thomas and Margaret might have met there. Susan

I am trying to locate information on my husband's grandfather. He was Charles I. Carney, born 1872 in Wilshire, PA. Married a Jennie B. Robinson in Barnesville, MN in 1896. He died in 1922 in Hope, ND. We don't know his parent's names or any other information regarding his heritage. Does this connect with any info that anyone of you might have?

Hi
I am a Mc Carney but it is possible that my ancestors may have dropped the MC from their name when they went to the
U.S. I am particularly interested in an Ella/Ellen Mc Carney wholeft Mullinacross Smithborough Monaghan in 1904 and went to live with her brother possibly Francis or James at 330 Theodore Street Scranton PA. She came back to Ireland and returned to U.S in 1907 staying with a MRs Hand at 801 Webster Avenue Scranton P.A . She had sisters called Maggie and Lizzie who both went to the U.S . Her brother
James went to U.S in 1903 and stayed with his cousin Joseph
Mc Carney address of 150-10 Avenue New York.
Any help in relocating the U.S branch of our family would be appreciated
Damian

Could you put the County it is in???
My aunt, Mildred Carney, might be the one you're referring to. She was born
in Arizona, but married my uncle, Harold Carney, who was from Saginaw,
Michigan. They lived in Arizona after they were married. Unfortunately, she
passed away this past year. I am interested in the postcard, as it could be
her.

If you possibly could, would you try to look up the marriage record for John
Carney in Wednesbury, St. Mary's Church. (sometime between 1895 - 1900) It's
close to Liverpool, which is close to Birmingham. Also, any of their
children could have been baptized in that church. I have written them twice,
but never received an answer. I'd be forever grateful!
Their address is:
Rev. Patrick O’Sullivan (or currentpastor)
St. Mary’s on the hill
St. Mary’s Road
Wednesbury West Midlands, England WS109DL

Greetings:
Is anyone especially familiar with the cluster of CARNEY families in
PHILADELPHIA ca: 1860? From several John Carneys in the 1860 census, trying
to figure which one...
...marries Bridget Mellen and in Philadelphia have JOHN, JR. c. 1864, Mary
Ann c. 1868, Margaret c. 1870; then to Lowell, Massachusetts for BERNARD in
1872 and PATRICK ca. 1873.
JOHN, JR. m. Ellen Doherty and has Alice (1897) and a gone-missing Hugh
Carney (1898), who might die in Wingdale, Dutchess County, New York, or NYC.
BERNARD has 6 children, including a surviving Margaret, Joseph and Jennie,
and moves to Methuen, MA. Joseph probably dies November, 1977. Margaret
Carney, born February 1874, marries William Quigley, and they have Paul (4),
William (2) and Frances (1 mo) by the 1920 census.
PATRICK remains a mystery.
Thanks,
Bill

I don't know quite how to respond, but I just found your message regarding the Huntones in Canandaigua, New York. I have used this website a couple years ago, and found no information. I was surprised to say the least when I stumbled over the messages this weekend. I have recently started my quest again because my younger brother is interested now. It is quite disheartening to see how small our family is. Very little information at all, there is little or no information earlier than the greatgrandparents.
Let me introduce myself, my name is Beth Huntone. I am the daughter of Albert(Pat or Patty when he was young) Brisbee Huntone Jr. I am the eldest of two children, my brother Patrick is seven years younger than me. He has a daughter that is eight years old now, Ashley Marie. I never meant my grandfather, Albert Sr. But my father did know about your family, I believe he had mentioned two girls in the second marriage. My father passed away when I was 19, from a heart attack. The men in the family seem afflicted with bad hearts and often suffer heart attacks in their 40's and 50's, the women too have trouble with heart conditions.
I am not sure if you are looking for current relatives or just family history. Alice Lostow has been able to tell me a little about the family, she is in her 90's now and lives in the Clifton Springs area. She is certain that the Huntone name was not changed. She claims we have French/Canadian Indian ancestry, my greatgrandfather being Mohawk. I also have Tuscaurora on my father's maternal side. I have been involved with some volunteer activities over the years in the local Indian community, and know from the pics Alice has, of her father and brothers, that we are Indian. I know of the Dempsey grandmother also, and have an older cousin, Ray, that has followed that line in researching the family line. An interesting tidbit from Alice: The name Brisbee came from a lady that helped the family when they lived in the Bristol/Naples area. My greatgrandfather and mother were so thankful that they used her name. I talked to my mother about this, and it seems fitting for the !
time. There were many wealthy ladies that had charities or causes that they belonged to and worked for. Our theory is that this kind lady offered help to the family, probably because they were poor and/or Native American.
I don't know much more than that, but would like the time later to research more thoroughly. I would be interested in talking to you, seeing as how you are my half-aunt by relation. :O) Beth
