wondering if I may need to do the samething you did, get a genealogist or if
it would even be worth it.
Thanks,

Barb,
How much information do you have about the will? Where is it from?
Copies of wills are usually stored at the county courthouse where the will
was filed. The county usually charges a fee, sometimes substantial, for a
search for the will and the copies. I was trying to obtain a copy of a will
from Ulster County, New York. The fee was $75.00 plus $1.00 per page. It
turned out that my will and its probate proceedings were over 100 pages long!
I was able to find a genealogist in the area (from Rootsweb) who found my
will and did an abstract for me for a lot less.

Elizabeth Carney came to US in 1867. Here she meant Michael Farley. He
came to US in 1865. Believe both to be from County Meath. They were married
in New York and settled in Dixon, Illinois. Michael was a farmer. Both
are buried in Dixon Illinois. Michael and Elizabeth are my great-great
grandparents. Have been trying to find out what towns they were from or
possibly what ship they came over on. Any help would be appreciated.
