from THE NORFOLK [Virginia] HERALD
February 21, 1845 Died, on Wednesday evening, the 19th inst., after a short
but painful illness, Mrs. ANN D., consort of MR. Joseph CARNES, aged 37 years
- - The devotedness of her attention to her domestic duties and the
fulfillment of all obligations of religion, were beautifully manifested by
her acts of maternal and conjugal affection at home, and of charity and
benevolence abroad. She was indeed a 'priceless jewel" to her husband and
children, while the poor and afflicted will feel that they too have lost an
inestimable friend. The funeral will take place from the residence of MR.
CARNES, on Cumberland street, tomorrow, at half past 3 o'clock, at which his
friends and acquaintance are invited to attend.
