I guess you have seen this link. I am not sure where these came from, it
looks like from VA. Dad and I have been trying
to find out where Zachariah Carnes came from. He showed up on the Grayson
County Kentucky 1810 Census (I think)
and on the 1850 Census (being 65 at that time). Since my GGG grandfather
and uncle came to KY to trade mules
from Georgia (Brooks and Shipley Carnes), one of them had my GG
grandfather
(William Shipley Carnes), Dad figures that
Zachariah had to be some kind of relation and I agree. But I have found
very little on him.
I do find it interesting that this mentions a Jehu Carnes, who would be
able
Zachariah's age. Two biblical names seems
curious, since I do not see any other Carnes' with names like that?
