hi stormy autumn,
sounds like we came for the same tree, or at least branches of the
same tree. My grandfather was Thomas Luther Carnes and I recognize
the same names that you were asking about. I have records on alot of the
Carnes family and maybe some that you can use. I have lots of pictures of family
markers and would share with you. Also have family tree back from early
1700's. Get in touch with me at wk_carnes(a)yahoo.com. Record are missing in some
areas but still can get good info. These Carnes come for the Buford area in Lancaster,
SC.
Good Luck,
hope to here from you

I am looking for my line of carnes that is apparently a bit elusive. MY
grandfather is William Thomas Carnes b. 1921. My great-grandad is Jacob
Lonzo "Lonnie" Carnes who Married Mary E. Smith in 12-24-1905. Lonnie's
dad is Thomas A. Carnes b.1862 who married Mary Morris b. 1860. Well folks
that is where it stops for me. I am not the greatest at researching but I
am no dummy either and I tell ya I am about to put in big bold letter on
this side of the tree "GYPSIES". These folks moved around a good deal of
the time and my family has no memory of them that is all that useful.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated
Many thanks in advance

Hello Michelle:
My Carnes family in Georgia has similar names. Where were your Carnes
in 1800's?

Michelle,
I've got a Thomas A. Carnes, b. 1845 Franklin County, GA. Not your Thomas A
Carnes, as he was born in 1862. Where was he born; where did he live?
Jim Gilmer
