Hi--
I am a descendant of Lewis Karns, Sr (b1760) and Elinor
"Nellie" Gordon (b 1765). They migrated to Ohio in the early 1800's
from PA. Their son Lewis Karns, Jr (b 1785) m Susanna Euanna Brewster
(b 1786). Of their eight children, one was Henry Karns (b 1810,
Muskingum Co, OH) who m Diantha McAllister (b 1801, Vermont). Their
son Michael Karns (b 1833 Muskingum Co, OH) was my great grandfather.
Henry and Michael migrated to Iowa. Michael served in the Civil War
as a member of the Iowa Volunteers.
Michael and my granfather William Taylor Karns migrated to
Kansas. Later, William Taylor along with his wife Carrie Bacon Karns
and my father Donald Page Karns came to the Oklahoma Territory in
1900 settling near Anadarko, OK in the last of the land openings of
the Territory.
I will be happy to exchange data. I have some collateral data
on the various families due to some excellent research my deceased
distant cousin Evelyn Jacobs Norweb of Cincinnati did.
