Dear Bill and list,
Greetings from Northern Ireland. I should say that I am not (as far as I
know) related to Carnegy families.
John McCurdy and myself have published a set of gravestone inscriptions from
the old burying groung at Billy Parish Church which is just south of
Bushmills in County Antrim. They are on the internet at
http://www.rootsweb.com/~irlantbp/
The stone noted below is of interest because of the arms. I have no other
details of the Carnegy family of this area.
Good luck in your endeavours.

Subject: [CARNEGIE] CARNEGIE/CARNEGY Clan
Hi all,
I'm new to the list and would like to get any info on this family. I
have my CARNEGY family traced to 1210 Scotland known as de BALINHARD at
the time. My Ggrandmother was Clara Margaret Whyte Carnegy who has
passed at the age of 104 this year. May God bless her soul. The earliest
photo I have was taken in 1907 Forfar, Scotland of her grandparents
Golden Anniversary with all his children. I have family (that I know of)
in England,Scotland,Canada,Ieland and the USA.
My cousin in Scotland has been helping me out with this. The name
CARNEGY come from the Earl of Northesk in 1720 from the CARNEGIE name
also his brother Earl of Southesk and his family still use the old
spelling.
Thanks
Bill
