It seems as though I have seen your name on a few posts and I visited your website however
I am not sure on the Carnahans I am looking for. So I will give you the info I have:Info
from Indiana county, Pennsylvania; her people, past . . by Joshua thompson Stewart page
564. Below Armagh Borough you will find this info:
"Armagh was founded in September 1792. the first settlers were a portion of a
shipload of emigrants from Ireland, most of them being from the counties of Armagh and
Antrim, who arrived in America on the 21st day of July 1792. They located in western
Pennsylvania, eight families arriving at the present site of Armagh these eight families
were from an Associate Reformed Church in County Armagh and were:. . . after A. Fee, wife
and one child Elizabeth you will find Alexander Carnathan, wife and four children" I
believed the surname was misspelled or later corrupted by English.
Now I refer you to the book I found on
Ancesty.com A century and a half of Pittsburgh and
her people page 208 bio for Wesley Simpson Wakefield-on page 209 the (II) DAvid Wakefield
was born October 11, 1778, in Path Valley, Perry county, PA; married Jennie C. Carnahan,
also of Indiana Co, . . His wife was the daughter of Alexander and Elizabeth
Carnahan."
Do you have any information on this family of Carnahans or the Wakefield branch?
Thanking you in advance, Cindy coetting57(a)hotmail.com
