Hi Emma,
I ran a search for any Ruth Carnahan attached to the state of Arkansas and
came up with this possible hit:
Ruth Carnahan, born abt 1898, dau of S. L. Carnahan (born abt 1868, AR) &
Frances (Fannie) Cook (born abt
1873). S. L. & Frances were married 28 May 1893 in Washington Co., AR.
S. L. Carnahan and his family were on the 1920 & 1930 census in
Washington Co., AR.
If this pans out, let me know so that I can add this marriage to my
database.
Phil Carnahan

Ok Phil,
Thanks for the info. and lets see what you think about this lineup....
First of all,
I had found a marriage for Samuel Lefave Carnahan to Mary Frances Cook.
That has to be the S. L. and Frances that you are talking about.
They married May 28, 1893 in Washington Co., Arkansas
1900 census of Marrs Hill township, Washington Co., Arkansas.
Samuel Cornhan and Fannie have 2 children listed:
Annis, age 5 and Emma, age 4.
However, Fannie indicates 3 children and 3 living.
Apparently Ruth was left off.
1910 census of Marrs Hill twp, Washington Co., Arkansas
Samuel Carnahan and wife Fannie have these children:
Emma, age 14
Ruth, age 12
Pearl, age 9
Mable, age 7
Samuel, age 5
William, age 1 8/12
1920 census - Marrs Hill Twp, Washington Co., Arkansas
S. L. Carnahan and Mary Frances have these children:
Ruth, age 21
Pearl, age 19
mabel, age 17
Samuel, age 15
William, age 11,
Herbert, age 9
Woodrow, age 7
Caswell, age 4
Eugene, age 11/12
In the 1930 census of Marrs Hill Twp, Washington Co., Arkansas
Samuel is deceased. Fannie Carnahan is listed with these children:
Mabel, age 27
Samuel N., age 24
Herbert L., age 19
Woodrow W., age 17
Caswell H., age 13
Eugene R., age 11
So.. Ruth is with the family in 1920 and not in 1930.
What do you think - right Ruth?????
Take care - Emma
