Here is the 2nd set of photos Dawn sent. This is just amazing. My mother's sister,
Hazel, was talented like this. I always envied her for the talent she possessed.

Hi Phil
Since we're Irish I thought I'd send this one too, just for fun.
It's the Blue Goose Inn, Saturday night maybe. No Fitz
Randolphs in the crowd though.

Hi Phil
This is the last I'll send. My workshop with half of the mural I painted and
buildings in various stages of completion.
------------------------
A note on the mural, except for the details of houses, waterfalls, etc., which were
painted with brushes, it was all done using small household sponges from the grocery
store. Dribbling a number of colors (acrilic, in small bottles at any craft store) on a
damp sponge together and give a bit of a squeeze to blend just a bit. The secret is have
the lay of the land in your mind and using a fair amount of pressure, move the sponge to
shape hills, lake, whatever, always starting in the far distance, then middle, then front,
etc. Little bits of sponge can be shaped like fir trees, bushes, flowers and dabbed on,
etc. It's only paint and can be changed, if you don't like the effect. Just
decide on the season and choose appropriate colors.
Murals are great fun to do and really easy with a sponge, if time consuming.
In the near distance I painted in all the houses I've ever lived in--from the house
where I was born to where I live now. If there's interest or need I could photograph
them too. You can only see one, a white one near the bottom in that photo. It was in a
valley, not on a hill, and had a lovely creek flowing by, so I added a bit of stone and a
stream. The house in The
Hollow, where I lived from age 2 1/2 until age 8--my Eden.
