Norman, Carroll, Gayle, Bob,
Merry Christmas to you all. Why are we doing e-mail on a day like this? (I
know, speak for myself) <Grin>
I'm sending this to the list because there are so many different folks who
have sent messages about this family. I hope you don't mind.
The citations for David K. CARNAHAN (1805/6-1864) in The Carnahan
Newsletters are as follows:
Birth: v10 #2 pg32, fgs
v8 #3 pg38, 55-1860cs, Fairfield Twp., Jackson Co., Ia.
v11 #2 pg26, son (Mathias R.) obit note
Death: v10 #2 pg32, fgs
The family group sheet listed in v10 #2 pg32 is for David K. CARNAHAN and
his family. It shows the following locations and dates for the family:
1840cs Washington Twp., Westmoreland Co., PA, 1854 Armstrong Co., PA, 1852
Plum Creek, Armstrong Co., PA, 1856cs Bellevue Twp., Jackson Co., IA, 1860cs
Fairfield Twp., Jackson Co., IA. There is also a reference to a History of
Canadian Co., OK (1901). The birthplace of their (David & Sarah) son David
on 20 Aug 1852, is listed as South Mahoning Twp., Indiana Co., PA and says
that info came from his birth record.
Even though the 1860 census says that all the children of David K. and Sarah
(RINGLE) CARNAHAN were born in Pennsylvania, I can find no record of them on
the 1850 census. On the 1860cs with David and Sarah was Elizabeth CARNAHAN,
age 60. She is probably the sister that Bob listed in his message.
Once again, Merry Christmas. I hope this day brings the love, joy and peace
of God to you all.
