All,
Here is some added information about the Illinois marriage
information I sent a while back. Seems to me we can't beat
the price for the information provided.
The home page for the Illinois State Archives contains an
index to other on line databases that are of great interest
to researchers.

Hi All:
Using this search program I located the 1900 marriage of
my paternal grandparents in Kankakee county, IL and sent
for the information that was available.
I received a sheet for GROOMS and a sheet for BRIDES.
The information contained on the sheets is as follows:
GROOMS SHEET:
Number of License
Date of License
By whom Affidavit, if any, is made
By whom Consent to Marriage Given
Full Name of Groom
Place of Residence
Occupation
Age next Birthday
Race or Color
Place of Birth
Father's Name
Mother's Maiden Name
Number of Groom's marriage
BRIDES PAGE:
Full Name of Bride
Maiden Name, if a widow
Place of Residence
Age Next Birthday
Race or Color
Place of Birth
Father's Name
Mother's Maiden Name
Number of Bride's Marriage
Where and When Married
Witnesses
By Whom Certified, Name and Office [person performing marriage]
Date of Return
When Registered
The two pages were accompanied by a personalized letter from the intern
who did the research. NOW for the big cost, this information cost me $1.00
plus the cost of my request and postage to them. They pay the postage
and will bill you when they send the requested mdse.
Cavaet: My grandparents were married in Kankakee county south Chicago
and I don't know if what I got was a state wide form or just one
used in that county. Either way a real scoop!!!!!
The URL is:

Frankly the two pages confirmed much of the information I knew and supplied
a great deal that I didn't know. For example, there is a discrepancy as to
whether >my grandmother's maiden name was LEVY or LEWIS. When she
married my grandfather it was LEVY as was her father's name.
Regards and good luck,
