The other James in the index is the one m. to Hannah Mahon per their records. He was b. PA
13 Jan 1754, Capt. PA, d. 31 May 1788, no pension. If there are discrepancies in the DAR
records--has anyone sent documentation to them to prove it? They do change their records
when proven wrong. My Patriot's DAR record was corrected back in the 1930's.
History had him with the wrong wife. I still see the wrong info on internet about his
family. The books written prior to the 1930's (& maybe some after) have the wrong
information about him--some even have the wrong service info--which belongs to a man with
same name who lived in same area. He applied for a pension 20 years after my Patriot had
died. I found this out on my own at the Nat'l Archives in Seattle, WA before I found
out the DAR had corrected their records many years ago.
