I have taken notice of the recent Carnahan posts, and my interest is
in
the
Carnahan Bible that is in the subject line. I am from Sandy Lake
Pa., but
I
live in Texas now. My GGrandmother was Cinda Carnahan. She married
Daniel
Rhoads. She had a sister named Nellie that married Daniel's
brother,
Solomon. It has been handed down to me that the Rhoads Family Bible
stayed
with the Carnahan Family, when they moved to Colorado I'm
wondering if
this
might be the same bible.
There are Carnahans Buried in Oak Hill Cemetery along with the Rhoads
Ancestors. This cemetery is on the South side of Sandy Lake. On the
North
side of town there is another Cemetery...Rocky Springs Cemetery where
Andrew
Jackson Carnahan and his wife, along with other Carnahans are
buried.
Andrew was the father of Cinda, and Nellie. The Rocky Springs Cemetery is
rather obscure, even tho it is right on the highway. If you don't know
where it is you will drive right past it. If anyone in the Sandy Lake
area
wants to find it, It is right across the highway from the Dick Freni
Farm
on
the road to New Lebanon. If anyone knows anything about the
Rhoads/Carnahan
Bible, I'd sure like to know. I have some family info that is
referenced
to
the Bible.
Thanks, Benny Rhoads
