Thank you Emma. I had come to the same conclusion also, but didn't want to
order the marriage certificate till I got some input from you and others.
Appreciate your help, cousin,
LuAna

Do you know if this "Edwin" is really "Ewing" Carnahan both married
an
Elizabeth Murphy? The marriage date is 15 days apart.
Hi LuAna,
I believe it is the same man and the same marriage. The only date I have
is
the 14 Mar 1839 date which came from the Warrick Co., Indiana
USGenWeb
site.
It is also in the Indiana On-Line Marriage Index.
As for the various spellings I rather think this is sort of like by E. B.
Jinkins. Is he Edward, Edwin, Edmond, Edmund, etc......<g>.
I believe his name was Ewing but it is spelled Erwin in the 1840 census,
Ewen
in the 1850 census and E(?)win (can't quite read that one) in the
1860
census. It is Ewin and Elizabeth Unis in the Indiana OnLine Marriage
Index but at
listed
as Edwin.....<sigh>.
Take care - Emma
