Loyalhanna Township
Ralph W. Carnahan, 59, of Loyalhanna Township, Westmoreland County, died Saturday,
December 11, 2004, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Aspinwall.
He was born April 11, 1945, in New Kensington, a son of Mary Serena and the late Bob
Carnahan.
Having lived in the Kiski Valley all of his life, he was employed by Reynolds
Manufacturing in Avonmore, as a union shop steward, laborer, machinist, and maintenance
worker, retiring in 2003.
A veteran of the United States Army, Mr. Carnahan served during the Vietnam War.
He also enjoyed running backhoes, woodworking, and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bob Carnahan, his great-grandmother, Daisy Serena,
and a nephew, Smokey Carnahan.
Mr. Carnahan is survived by his mother, Mary Tatone of Avonmore, his wife of 35 years,
Peggy J. (Seger) Carnahan of Loyalhanna Township, a daughter, Brenda J. (Paul, Jr.) Tarr
of Loyalhanna Township, two sisters, Vicky (James) Holbrook and Alberta Lauda, both of
Loyalhanna Township, a brother, Harry "Smoke" (Linda) Carnahan of Blairsville,
and several nieces and nephews.
