Possible connection to Laura Carnahan I have in my files, born Laura Long, born Dec. 1877.
She was born in NC and both parents were born in NC.
She's been very hard to trace, as she was married several times and lived possibly in
Louisiana as well as Arkansas. I show she married W.J. Joiner on March 1, 1894; then
Charles Carnahan, on October 20, 1900; then W.C. Bates on February 16, 1907 and then L.C.
Grimes on October 20, 1911, all in Faulkner County, Arkansas; possibly Benedict Twp.
She is listed as living in the household of Charles Carnahan on the 1900 Census for
Benedict Twp., Faulkner County, AR. Also residing in Charles Carnahan's home are the
following: Minnie Joiner, aged 4 and Kate Joiner, age 5 months. I assume Minnie and Kate
were the children of Laura and W.J. Joiner.
I have a letter that states : Walter (W.C.) Bates married a young widow that had a couple
of small boys, her name was Laura Carnahan, her husband was killed and they lived in
Louisiana.
While I don't show Laura marrying a Jones or living in Crittenden County, as I said,
she's been most difficult to trace. If you think any of this fits, please let me
know.
Thanks,
Peggy (Carnahan) Nail
