Wife of Guy Carnahan dies; Funeral Here
Mrs. Allie Hazel Carnahan, 63. wife of Guy Carnahan, died Thursday at the
Maple Avenue Hospital in Du Bois, Pa.
Mrs. Carnahan, a well known Mt. Vernon resident for many years, was formerly
a machine operator at the old knitting mill here.
Although they had been residing in Pennsylvania since last July, the Carnahans
maintained their home on Route 7, Mt. Vernon.
Mr. Carnahan, a foreman in the electrical department at the old Mt. Vernon
car shops, is presently employed in Du Bois as car inspector at the B.
& O. shops.
Mrs. Carnahan was stricken ill on Decmeber 21 and remained in critical
conditon in the hospital until her death yesterday.
Her daughter, Mrs. Judith Patterson of Mt. Vernon, was called to Du Bois
December 28 and had been wtih ever since.
Mrs. Carnahan was born August 26, 1902 in Hamilton county, the daughter
of the Rev. Edward J. and Bertie (Cross) Cravens.
Funeral arrangements were incomplete today, but the body is being returned
to Mt. Vernon for funeral services and burial. The body will be taken to
the Pulley Funeral Home.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Carnahan is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Burrell
Lee (Judith) Patterson; one sister, Mrs. Virginia Nooner of Mt. Vernon;
and two granchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Oran Cravens.
