Anna Carnahan dies last night; funeral Tuesday.
Mrs. Anna Belle Carnahan died at 7:20 p.m. Sunday at her home, 1613 south
12th street, at the age of 75 years, nine months and 17 days.
Mrs. Carnahan was known to her friends as "Aunt Annie".
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Second Baptist
Church, with the Rev. Carl Whittington and the Rev. Sam McCoy officiating.
Burial will be in the Oakwood cemetery. (Located in Mt. Vernon, Jefferson
Co, IL)
The body will remain at Myers Chapel, where friends may call after 3:00
p.m. today until noon Tuesday, when the body will be removed to the church
to lie in state until the funeral hour.
Mrs. Carnahan was born December 25, 1876 in Cardony, Ind., the daughter
of Louis R. and Jenny Carroll.
She was member othe Second Baptist Church.
Surviving are four sons, Louis Allen Carnahan of Winchester, Ill. and James
Howard, Cecil Ray and John Leonard Carnahan, all of Mt. Vernon; a daughter,
MRs. Myrtus Leola Rapp of Jacksonville, Ill; two brothers, Albert R. Carroll
of Springfield, Ohio and William O Carroll of Terre Haute, Ind.; 11 grandchildren
and six great grandchildren.
