Thomas Wilson Carnahan
72, well-known to may Indiana County residents, passed away in his home in Grove City
Tuesday morning following a two-year illness.
A son of Thomas M. and Mary (Hamilton) Carnahan, he was born in White township August 31,
1869. He conducted a general store in Shelocta and Parkwood and also was a partner with
his brother W. S. Carnahan in Indiana until 1920, when he moved to Grove City to engage in
the mercantile business. He had since entered the insurance field.
Surviving are his widow, Zalla Maude (McAdoo) Carnahan; four children, Raymond Wilson
Carnahan of Sharon, Sara Maude Henry of Brockway, Thomas Archibald Carnahan of Falls
Creek, and Mary Ellen Johnston of Volant, Pa; a sister, Mrs. Ella Anderson of Indiana and
five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted in his late residence at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in charge
of the Rev. Homer B. Henderson, D.D. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery, Indiana, at
11:30 a.m. Friday.
