I saw that in one of your posts and was soooo interested. I would really
like to figure out how Hugh Carnahan in North Carolina links with the
Pennsylvania group because I really do believe he does. I have actually
wondered if Andrew Carnahan might not have been born in Pennsylvania rather
than Baltimore Co., Maryland as he indicates in his rev. war pension.
This thought ocurred to me when I ran into an interesting deal with another
line. John Thomas Clark - in his family bible - said he was born 28 Nov 1840
in Moultrie Co., Illinois. Now.. this man was a minister and his bible was a
wealth of information. He included details about his wife, all his children
and it even had pages of people he had married back in the 1850's. But
somewhere along the line it dawned on me that he could not have been born in
Moultrie Co., Illinois because that county did not exist in 1840. It was
formed in Feb. of 1843 from Shelby Co. So my guess is that they lived in the
part of Moultrie Co. that was formed from Shelby Co. and he grew up only
knowing Moultrie Co.
Have wondered if the same thing happened to Andrew Carnahan. Perhaps on
their way south Baltimore Co. was what he knew.
Just a rumbling thought.... take care and thanks for all the info.
