Boyd Funeral At Massillon Monday Morn
H. C. Kennedy, 326 Hamilton Ave. left Saturday for Massillon to attend the funeral of his
mother-in-law, Mrs. A. T. Boyd, aged 70 years, whose death occurred at her home in
Massillon, Friday morning at 9 o'clock
Mrs. Boyd was apparently in good health, until she was suddenly stricken Thursday and her
daughter, Mrs. H. C. Kennedy was summoned to her bedside. Details of her illness and
death were not contained in the message received here.
Caroline Carnahan, the youngest of a family of ten children, was the daughter of the late
Adam and Harriet Carnahan of Fresno, her birthplace.
On December 7, 1878, she was united in marriage with A. T. Boyd, of Fresno. To this union
were born five children, all of whom survive. They are Mrs. H. C. Kennedy, of Coshocton,
Mrs. E. E. Huff, Massillon, Frank M. Boyd, of Willoughby, Jesse E. Boyd, of Brookfield,
and Vernon C. Boyd of the late home. In addition to the children and husband, she also
leaves one sister, Mrs. A. Mizer, Bladensburg, two brothers, William and Adam Carnahan of
Lexington, Ill, and nine grandchildren.
Mrs. Boyd was a faithful member of the Methodist Episcopal Church and a consistent
Christian character. Her kindly nature and amiable disposition endeared her to the many
with whom she came in contact.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10 o'clock at the late home. The Rev.
Dr. W. R. Polhamus will have charge. Interment will be made in the Massillon Cemetery.
