JoAnn,
I don't know that I am related to you, however I do live in Kansas. I know
of Carnahan families at Wichita, and at Clay Center. Were either of these
your families?
I don't know how long you have been researching. I wonder if you are aware
of Linda Carnahan Nelson's work on the Carnahan line. Linda died about six
years ago, I believe. Her records were all microfilmed by the LDS Church
after her death. She compiled a Carnahan newsletter, and I am sorry to say
that it was a time in my life when I couldn't afford to buy newsletters for
all of the famiies I was working on. They are microfilmed, as is all her
research notes (family group sheets, etc.) and letters to and from various
researchers. When they were filmed, they were not all put on continuous
running reels, which makes it confusing when trying to order film. I was in
Salt Lake and ran through several reels until I found my particular records.
I just haven't had time to look at them all. You might want to take a look
at the FHC catalog, and see what information it gives you. I didn't get to
meet Linda, but I hold her as one of my closest friends.
Good luck in your search.
